Brief info

The majority of the facilities that Barbara has worked on or assessed over recent years have been high hazard sites, mostly operating under the Seveso Directive (COMAH within the UK).  This includes facilities within the oil and gas industry, airport / air base installations, energy from waste and those within the water industry with a high inventory of chemicals exceeding the COMAH lower limits (such as chlorine gas).

Barbara has also been involved in projects involving security clearance and has previously achieved security clearance to obtain a full 5-year airside permit at, and to be appointed authorised signatory for the project airside permit applications at London Heathrow Airport.  Following that Barbara was granted security clearance to gain access to a number of US Air Force bases throughout Europe.

Barbara is also qualified to undertake foam testing to the LASTIFRE protocol.

Dr. Barbara Chisholm is a Specialist Consultant Associate of ENRgConsultants and is a Chartered Engineer with more than 35 years’ experience in civil & structural, fire, environmental, water and wastewater projects as both a designer and contractor in a variety of roles working in or leading multi-disciplinary teams. Barbara has a very practical approach to design and problem solving having spent many years over her career working at site. In addition, part of her studies for her PhD including the design and undertaking experiments to prove the theory.
