Our personnel have had experience in carrying out fire modelling analyses and developing Fire Hazard Analyses (FHAs) for a number of international clients at business critical oil and gas facilities around the World. These FHAs have resulted in coherent strategies for fire prevention, protection and response, as well as significant benefits for operators including cost savings in implementation of risk reduction measures.

ENRgConsultants can also assist in the development, review and ongoing use of emergency response plans (ERPs).

The following are typical specific examples of Fire Hazard Management and Emergency Response related work carried out by ENRg Consultants. Additional examples can be provided if required: 

  • Development and Implementation of Risk Based Fire Hazard Management strategies, System Design, System Commissioning and Training for fuels storage terminals including large diameter tanks (Greater than 100m).  
  • Numerous Fire Hazard Management audits of terminals including Third Party Terminal audits. Typical companies include Oikos, OilTanking, Vopak, Nustar, etc. 
  • Ongoing contracts for provision of tank fire Emergency Response training, consultancy and incident response. 
  • Review of Emergency Response capability at terminals and refineries including involvement of Local Authority Fire and Rescue Services  
  • Development of corporate guidance on  Fire Protection Requirements and Emergency Response for downstream activities.

  • Preparation of Scenario Specific Emergency Response Plans in line with best practice guidance given by Energy Institute (i.e Involving both Operator and Responder actions) for a number of facilities and companies including Ineos (Refineries), GALP (Refinery), Oil and Gas Production (Shell, Brunei), Total (Terminals.) 
  • Ongoing career potential assessment of candidates for Emergency Manager role at upstream facilities, petrochemical plants, LNG production/storage, Refineries and Terminals. This work is to a structured assessment process involving competency assessment in a range of subjects including HAZMAT, Fire Systems, Fire Response, Oil Spill Response and Incident Investigation. It covers corporate level Emergency Response as well as hands-on site requirements.   
  • Assessment of Emergency Response Equipment and Competency Assurance for refinery. Note: Response capability for major incidents involves a full time Emergency Response Team, Auxiliaries and Local Authority Fire and Rescue Services.
  • Development of Competency Profiles, Training material and Assessment process for Emergency Responders and Crisis Managers at LNG facilities – including corporate office personnel as well as site team. 
  • Provision of in-house training courses in Hydrocarbon Emergency Response at client facilities. 
  • Presentation of Hands-on Storage Tank Fire Response training at a number of locations including ISTC Malta and Centro Jovellanos, Spain.
  • Lead consultant on SIGTTO training video for tanker and terminal liquefied gas incident response.   
  • Worldwide Peer Review of corporate Crisis Management structures and policies.
