Paul Watkins is a Specialist Consultant Associate of ENRgConsultants graduate of Fire Science from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. During his studies, he was heavily involved in the use and validation of fire and explosion modelling techniques and the application of risk assessment procedures.
Since graduating Paul has been an independent Fire Hazard Management Consultant working with international companies. He has 20 years of experience assessing and implementing Fire and Explosion Hazard Management for a wide variety of oil, gas, petrochemical and other clients in the high risk industries. He has worked in over 50 countries in a range of operating environments and has provided services including Fire Hazard Management and protection reviews, Quantitative Risk Assessments, and Emergency Response (ER) resource assessments that align with facility Safety Reports (e.g. COMAH/SEVESO) to fully demonstrate emergency preparedness. The latter has included calculation of fixed fire protection and mobile emergency response resources including water flowrates, quantities, foam application rates and foam concentrate quantities, equipment and hardware requirements etc. using calculation methods outlined in international guidance (e.g. NFPA 11, NFPA 15, Energy Institute EI Part 19, ISGOTT etc.).
